Judaism – Faith and Practices
Rabbi Zalman Kastel is National Director of the Together for Humanity Foundation, a charity working to teach children to replace prejudice with respect. He was raised in the “ultra orthodox” Chasidic tradition in the racially divided Crown Heights area of Brooklyn New York. This changed in 2001, when encounters with Christians and Muslims transformed him.
Rabbi Kastel will broaden our awareness of Judaism by beginning his presentation discussing key Jewish faith beliefs and practices. He will then share with us how and why he founded the Together for Humanity Foundation – its aims, objectives and current status. How might we “replace prejudice with respect” in our community.
Everyone is welcome to this talk and discussion.
